A partner WordPress site that utilizes email, RSS feed subscriptions but with a twist. This is a podcast optimized site which allows site visitors to subscribe to audio podcast via the iTunes feed service. The email\RSS feeds gives a subscriber the option to receive an automated notification in their email in-box and or receive updates from their news readers. So when a new audio is placed on the site, subscribers get an automated email that allows them to preview a sample of the audio and then offers them a link to the iTunes subscription service to receive the audio in their iTunes audio player. Their RSS feed readers are also updated if they subscribed to it.
We have many ideas going forward for this campaign including Facebook and Twitter accounts integration which will keep fans updated on speaking events and book signings from the author as he travels the country. An events posting page will be added so site subscribers are notified in this way as well using the email\RRS feed notifications.
College Information and News web site powered by WordPress. Features include email\RSS feed subscriptions. This site implements many different news and information posts with varying themes so we created a variety of sidebar widgets that place the different categories in many different ways which gives the site visitor and subscribers many options to view content. We breakout the information by Latest posts, Most popular posts, Archive posts and categories by themes.
Now administrators can easily create their news stories, select a category for them and post it to the site all from a browser using the powerful WordPress content management system. (CMS) No special knowledge is needed. If you can use Microsoft word, you can add and modify content with WordPress.
Every morning, subscribers get an email notification of any new content that has been added with a link to the story directly on the web site…Nifty. Subscribers will not receive an email notification if no new content has been added to the site. WordPress is that smart.
We can set the time within two hour blocks, in a 24 hour period that you want WordPress to go looking for new content and automatically send out the email notifications if it finds some. All you need is for your site visitor to fill out a form with their email address to become a subscriber. They receive an email activation, then all they need to do is click on the activation link in the email to start receiving site updates from you.
The RSS feed placed on the site is for folks who prefer that their news readers get updated. For those who use news readers, once subscribed, they receive notification in their readers of new content just like the email notifications work. Site visitors have the option to use either one or both.
Feed options on web sites give your site visitors the convenience of not having to visit your site everyday to check for new information. The feeds send that to them, getting your site visitors to the information they are most interested in…Nice for you, nice for them.
